I might be wrong, but I think the "interest" meter is the player's interest in the program. I may be way off base with this.

I watched that Brust kid's video on Title's recruiting page. Man, he is a scorer and looks like a great fit at Butler. Here's to hopin'.

I agree with the ones saying that Butler needs to be recruiting PG's with scoring punch...not guys that are necessarily gonna gun 15 times a game, but guys who are a threat to score every time down the court.

I'd be surprised if we added a kid for the 2009-10 school year at this point, but it isn't out of the question. Late commits, coaching changes, D-1 transfers and Junior College transfers are all still a possibility, and for guys who won't sit out a year (JUCO), we have to look very appealing. We've taken guys very late in the process in the past, including Ron Nored last year (good) and James Parker several years ago (bad).

I mentioned this on the other board... The Scout profile for Alex Rossi states that Butler has made him an offer.

I could not get anyone to confirm or deny that on the other board.

Anyone have any info?

I would, under some circumstances, be skeptical about such prolific shooter/scorers as Brust and Garland running a system like Butler's (with its emphasis on unselfishness). But I think strong one-on-one skills at the point would diversify the offense get better looks late in the clock. And frankly, neither Graves nor Green would be labeled shy and I think that whole team functioned real well. Mike Green was an exceptional guy, however. I think in order for our program to get to the next level (Elite eight) we need a point guard who is a true scoring threat everytime down the floor. Brust and Tyrone Garland out of Philly look like they could fill that role quite well. Can't wait for the verbals to start coming in for 2010. We have 3 scholarships barring transfers correct?

These are all 3-Star Recruits we've either shown interest in or offered. I've only seen Alex Rossi and Ben Brust play. Have not seen Alex Gauna or Aaron Cosby live. I know Gauna is likely headed to Michigan State or Michigan. Brust seems like a realistic possibility, but I question his role within our system. I'd be much happier to see Rossi give a verbal.
