Probably came close. Started the night out at Chilis, you know, the ole 2 for 1 from 4-10. And, decided make it the best deal possible. Combine that with the rest of the evening, how many board members do we have?

Yeah seems more odd that you took enough notice to ask why...not really odd, just a long day capped off by a long night with some old friends that lead to me being out way too late...came home and decided to jump into the conversation a touch smashed. Looking back at it, it doesn't look too bad.

Goodness. Closed for 6 hours a day. Things have really gone downhill under Stax's reign as "moderator/chief instigator".

Can Jake Kelly play right away at ISU? Has this been determined? If it has or hasn't I think it is a legitimate question. You can never get inside these guys' heads of course and I think it is a tad bit shallow to judge (although I will feel free to do so) but you wonder how legit these claims are and how strict/loose the rules are.

I know I am in the minority here (and by minority I believe I'm the only person who likes Duke) all I have to say is 'NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

I mean I definitely understand his need to be closer to his family and I do not fault Elliot at all, it just sucks as a Duke fan because Duke now has 2 guards for all of next year. It's hard to do much of anything with only 2 guards. That being said I hope his mother has a speedy recovery, and I do think he made the right decision to...

I don't really think there's a hard and fast rule in this case ... each case is ruled on individually by the NCAA to determine if immediate eligibility should be granted.

I believe the NCAA is attempting to tighten this up a bit after Bobby Gonzalez and others were accused of abusing the "hardship" rule.

In fact, many people argue that if the kid truly is transferring to be closer to sick parents, then taking a 1 year break from basketball would probably...

11-1 down here (CDT). So, 12-2 EDT.

Right now it is a little NBA Draft heavy with emphesis on hor poor the Grizzlies front office is run, and how they have allowed everyone see their poker hand with this number 2 pick. Still pretty enjoyable though.

I am sure it falls along the same lines. Granted there would probably need to be a strict time table put into place (6-12 months maybe?) but there probably is a rule in place.

HFS-no problem. He is hilarious. The other guy on there is a columnist from commercial appeal and is ok as well. But GP is a riot. Not to mention he is way plugged in and a very strong source for info.

Actually HFS, it's a legic question. His Mom tragically lost her life in a plane crash BEFORE the 08-09 season began. Now he is transferring to ISU and trying to get immediate playing time. I'm just curious what rule would apply here.

Not really a Butler topic, but for all of you Duke haters out there (like me) this will make you smile. Elliot Williams (PG/SG) has been released from his scholarhship from Duke and leaves them with a big hole at the point. Reasons given were is ailing mother and wanting to be close to her. According to what Parrish said on the radio today, that usually leads a player to land within 100 miles or so of their hometown, which in this case is Memphis, and they can play right away without...
