At the risk of getting Duck all upset, I'm going to post this anyhow. Noticed online today that flooding in Iowa City has threatened 19 buildings on the
Univ of Iowa campus. Have been trying to check some Iowa City papers to find out if Carver-Hawkeye Arena is one of the buildings being threatened. Guess they
have sandbagged the campus & now are sitting & waiting to see how high the flood waters will go. Will post more as I find out more.

Carver seems to lie at a fairly high elevation, but since it is a bowl type arena, I can see where flooding in the area could really cause some damage. I would
have to think that they'd be safe, but this is a 500 year flood, so who knows!!
A good friend who lives in Iowa City, said earlier that the flooding wasn't going to affect them that bad, but I don't think the extent of it had been seen at that point.

CHA is a bit elevated. As you drive from Iowa City past the football practice facility and the baseball field towards Coralville, you actually do go up a hill.
However, I believe that the actual floor of CHA is below the level of the parking lot outside. I actually think it is considerably lower. This might be why it
would be threatened. You've got to think that the track and the softball field (even further down the road and hill towards Coralville) are toast. Those
two things are at a much lower elevation than CHA, and the Iowa River runs no more than 150 feet (across the main road) from the entrance of both facilities.

Just do what I did and click on "more" underneath Duck's avatar and click "Ignore User's Posts." Every post made by him/her is automatically collapsed. Duck never adds anything beneficial to the discussion, so why bother with his/her posts? It's great!

Just flew into Chicago, and sat next to one of this years national wrestling champs from Iowa - he told me that he's heard that the lower level of Carver
has taken in water, and the basketball court WAS affected...
thought you'd like the inside info...

cool. Is Elvis in the house? PDT, you're still my buddy too, but these guys are too serious. If they don't like what they read, ignore it. The best
part of this thread is that I can get rid of Westfield Buttshot. Let me see if I have this right. I hit the "more" button and then
"blocking" and Westfield is gone. That's better than muting Dicky V during a ESPN ACC game. What's even better is that I can play with
Buttshot and he / it will never fill my screen with his / its debauchery. This is the best day of my cyber life!

Today, I put Duck on ignore status. In the beginning, I could handle his responses to many board users comments. However, the Iowa City and University of Iowa
comments were totally "out of bounds". I know many Butler fans, and none of them are as rude as Duck.
