Not to be demeaning, but Oakland City was a profoundly bad team. They played absolutely no defense and basically had no talent on the offensive end. It was actually kind of embarassing watching them play defense. A good high school team would have defended better than they did in the first half.

I think that was a high school team. They did roll up in a school bus and I was pretty sure they fired it up at half time at got out of Hinkle. It might have
been for the best.

If the crowd was good it is going to be a good year....
The basketball game was on at the same time as Geneva Stunts, and I would say there was about 1000 or so there to see it when I looked out? Granted it was family weekend |

I still don't understand why people make honest attempt at projecting or evaluating players after an exhibition game. I'd hope everyone looked good
against a below average NAIA Div 2 team. I'm still waiting to see a game or two against a D-1 opponent before I make any declarations.

Well, I guess that we will have a better assessment of this team after the Drake game. With that said, the Dawgs looked good in the exhibition games. The
upside for this team looks good. They know how to space, how to pass, how to pick and screen, how to shoot, how to defend, etc. Our success on the offensive
end of the floor is directly related to our success on the defensive end of the floor....and the players know that. The fact that our players know that fact is
a step in the right direction.

All i know is that i should have flunked a few more classes during spring semester so I could still be down there to see all the new talent, it's killing
me not to be there this year. But from what i'm reading it looks like this season will be interesting no matter what and it will be a Butler team like i or
many other fans have ever seen before. Good luck to these kids and i hope all this young talent we have pays off. Go BU.

I'm extremely glad that Brad is stressing defense almost at all costs. If we consistently play good defense and make it tough for the opponents to score,
we can more often avoid those droughts that invariably plague young teams. 1 - We can create easy buckets through steals and good defense 2- We can survive
droughts on our offensive end by creating them on the defensive end.

Agree peeps. We can definitely avoid scoring droughts by causing turnovers and getting easy buckets. It will be very nice to see us get to the rim more and
finish when we have those cold shooting nights.

Exactly Mr. Chitwood. I am very anxious to see what Butler looks like against Drake. Its the same with all these exhibiton games. I saw IU-Anderson and
Purdue-Fla So. and it is exciting. I just have no way of telling who's gonna do what against similar competition. Butler is deep enough they see far better
competition in practice than they will against some teams.
