Word is Pastner wants to hire Henry's father as director of basketball operations. Apparently he did learn something from Calipari. He's going to
make a real run at keeping their recruiting class together.

Yeah, um, don't be surprised if he makes a couple "hires" that benefit the players he brings in. Most likely, that was a major sticking point in
hiring him...that he can build his own staff from scratch...get it.

I think everything is about settled right now and we can all focus on what is and isn't. Here is something funny though I thought would entertain you guys
from down south:
Shirley Raines, the President of Memphis, was quoted early last week (before the pastner hire) as saying something along the lines of she would never consider a coach like Andy Kennedy because of the legal matter hanging over him and she didn't want that type of scrutiny at her school...ok, this coming from the same woman who stood by and watched as Calipari not only disabled most of the athletic department, but also had players do the following: 1. Start basically a riot in The Plush Club (Beale St) by jumping over the bar and punching out the bartender (I believe Joey Dorsey was the ringleader of that melee). 2. Drag their girlfriend down Beale Street in public because of a dispute that resulted in a big legal fiasco (Jeremy Hunt) 3. Chase their girlfriend down in a car in downtown Memphis near Union Avenue, pull her out and slap her around (Dozier) 4. And one more, and I can't remember who the player was who did this, but one of them branded their gang sign into their girl's arm with a cigarette. But God forbid you bring Kennedy in, because he has real character issues. I am happy she didn't because I am an Ole Miss fan. But, her assessment of the man is outrageous at best. And the city was begging for him. Believe it or not the man has a big fan base and is very well respected around here. |

willis, the Indiana Pacers, sometime in the last 5 years, have done almost all of those things........ so maybe they are just emulating their idols!

Isiah Thomas signed a five-year deal to coach Florida International. Seems like a weird fit, but I guess that's what he needs to do to try to restore his
reputation.

Al Davis is terrible now, but at least he has some success on his resume. He should have walked away probablty after they got blow to bits in the super bowl in
2003, but he has stayed and made that team a laughing stock.

Marge Schott was a coach/GM? She was the controlling partner for 15 years and the team won a World Series 6 years after she took over.

Marge was the "Managing General Partner". She is perhaps most well known for her controversial behavior during her tenure as owner of The Reds, which
included slurs towards African-Americans, Jews, the Japanese and gays. She was banned from managing the team by the MLB from 1996 through 1998 due to a series
of statements sympathizing with Nazi party leader Adolf Hitler; shortly after, she sold the majority of her share in the team.
But, she DID have "Schotzy". |

Schotzy was awesome.
Isiah is awful, in all categories. He ran the Raptors, Knicks and the CBA into the ground, couldn't coach a lick with the Pacers and enjoys sexually harassing co workers. President/VP/GM/Coach, whatever you want to label him, let's say "position of power within an organization" he was completely terrible. One of the worst ever. |
