This would be a great experience for Gordon. I hope he makes it and it looks like he probably has a good chance. This could elevate his game even further.

He definitely has a great chance to make the team. One guy on there who is a complete baller is Terrico White from Ole Miss. That kid is dynamite. He is from
Memphis and I saw him play in High School and a few times this year for Ole Miss. But other than that I would take Gordon over about everyone else. That is a
good player pool but I don't see too many of them bringing what he can. Should be a great experience and if he makes it, a great chance to gain some
leadership experience too seeing that most of these guys seem to be around his age or younger.

Gordon is very versatile, he should have a great shot. He could play a few positions, so they could use someone like that

USA Basketball officials confirmed Friday that Pitt guard Ashton Gibbs was added to the roster, as was Butler's Shelvin Mack |

Hopefully we get 1 of the 2 on the roster.

You hope that only 1 of them makes the team? If we are hoping, I would say hopefully we get 2 of 2 on the roster.

Talent wise they both should make it and I think it would be a great experience and add more to the new found respect and admiration for this program.

Not going to happen, but if I'm hoping for something without any consideration for reality, then I might as well reach for the sky, right? Realistically, we have a chance for one guy to make this team. We aren't Duke or UNC...we aren't getting more than one player on the USA basketball roster. |

In terms of guys who have already been invited, Gordon has a better shot at making it than Shelvin does. Not that Shelvin can't make it, but simply
he'll probably have to turn more heads at the tryouts than Gordon will because Gordon can play a multitude of positions with his size and skill set that
will be more unique than what Mack can offer. From looking at the list, this team has plenty of guards that are probably quicker or more physical than Mack.
This again does not mean that he can't make it, but with the subjectivity in the selection of All-Star teams, both players would do well to bring their
"A" games. Part of me hopes they both make it, part of me hopes that they don't make it so they just have that much more time to continue to gel
with the rest of the Butler Bulldogs. Either way, as it's been said before, it's a great honor to have 10% of the total guys trying out to be coming
from Butler and just shows where this program is headed.

Um, think what Duck is referring to is the politics of it all. Although Butler's name is becoming bigger every day, if it is a objectively close between
one of our guys and a bigger named school's guy, you most likely who they will pick. I would love to see two Butler representatives on this team, talent is
there for it, but chances probably are not that great of it happening.

According to the article in the Star (and we all know the Star is always right...) there are 16 players (not 19) invited to try out for 12 spots.

The final amount of players invited is 17, according to USA Basketball...

If you read through Andy Katz's blog from 6/17, indications are that Gordon
is doing well at U19 tryouts. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=katz_andy |

Notable quotes from Katz's blog:
Miller said Calipari told him that everyone will be able to compete for minutes. But he knows that if he can make the USA team, not an easy task with strong competition at his spot from players like Butler's Gordon Hayward, it would enhance his profile with Calipari. The buzz on the U-19 team after Day One was how strong Casto played inside; the shooting from Hayward; the athleticism of Ole Miss' Terrico White on the perimeter; and the likelihood that without Connecticut's Kemba Walker (he withdrew), the team's best point may be incoming Florida freshman Kenny Boynton. |

Maybe Shelvin can latch on to the team as a point guard.
