Bulldogs To Take Part In Cancun Thanksgiving Classic
While the weather in Indianapolis is likely turned towards winter, the Butler women's basketball team will be spending its Thanksgiving weekend in far warmer climate, as the Bulldogs will travel south to Mexico to take part in the 2009 Cancun Thanksgiving Classic from Nov. 26-28 at Kuchil Baxal Gymnasium.
The five-team tournament will feature a pair of Big East foes in Louisville and Syracuse as well as Northern Iowa and Old Dominion.
Butler will play two games in the tournament, opening up on Friday, Nov. 27, against Syracuse beginning at 8:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. local) before concluding the following evening against UNI starting at 6:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. local).
Located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun is a coastal city of nearly 600,000 residents that features tropical beaches along the Caribbean Sea and several Mayan ruins located further inland.
