Piniella was manager when the Reds won the 1990 World Series. However back then he believed in the philosophy of "Get 'em on, get 'em over, get
'em in." But then again he also had the "Nasty Boys" and Chris Sabo...and my all time favorite baseball player Barry Larkin. On a more
exciting note, it's nice to see Dusty mixing it up a bit in Cincy, a lot of pitching rotations, trying new hitting line ups, and who isn't a fan of
Laynce Nix, I'm just waiting for them to start producing his jersey. But the NL central as a whole is making me feel good about being a baseball fan again
this season. Still confident the Redlegs can regain their composure and make a run for the playoffs this year.

Sad. Articles about Butler, Gordon, and Shelvin on SportingNews, SI, and ESPN, and still nothing from the Indy Star. Just pathetic, and not at all surprising.
Oh, and you Cubs fans and your pity parties are worse than CigarBoy injecting his politics into every thread. Boo-hoo. Cubs suck again. Surprise, surprise. |

The Indy Star had an article on Mack and Hayward making the team last week. I believe David Woods wrote it and it was on the front page of the Sports section.

dawgkeeper wrote: That story appeared on Friday, June 19th. David Woods wrote the article. The story included Gordon Hayward, Shelvin Mack, and Robbie Hummel. The opening lines were: "Butler's basketball program achieved a milestone Thursday. For the first time in 46 years, the Bulldogs had a player selected to a US national team--two, in fact". Later on: "There is no record of a Butler player on a national team since Tom Bowman was selected for a US-Soviet Union game in 1963". Being an old fart, I clipped this article from the Star, and it eventually will be stored in the cave where I have stored all other Butler articles (by season).

Yeah, people that jump on here and say the Cubs are terrible and laugh at them and make fun of Cub fans, well, they are accurate. And I am a huge disgustingly
addicted Cub fan. And I can only take it so much. The team is terrible and will be...and fans are dumb year in and year out to believe otherwise. So, doubt it
riled people up too much.
