I realize that this should go under General Discussion and feel free BU97 or Staxs to move it there. However, I just wanted to take a minute for us all to
think about what it is that we are celebrating. One rather simple piece of paper that was eventually signed by 56 men of the Continental Congress declaring our
independence from England. These men believed so firmly in that independence that they were willing to pen their names to the document knowing that it could
mean prison, a loss of their fortunes, or even death. A goodly number of those men suffered through just those circumstances so that today we can kick back,
relax, picnic with family/friends, and generally enjoy the many freedoms that are afforded us as a result of that document.
Let also remember the members of our armed forces, past and present, who have represented our country in war and peace so that we can continue to enjoy those same freedoms that were declared 223-years ago. We salute you for your service to the country and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice of giving their life for their country.
