Hooray! Our primary RPI anchor has finally been cut loose. |

Ball State falls to Eastern Michigan in the MAC tournament, ending
their pointless 6-24 season, unless the point was to make our SOS look worse than it really actually was.

Your title might as well read: "Hooray! Our RPI anchor lost, becoming an even greater anchor."
So are you glad our opponent lost? Even though BSU is done, their horrible schedule is no less a component of our RPI. I don't get it... |

It's actually pretty easy to understand, they can't hurt us any further, their damage is done. For the last 4 months, BSU has been popping in and
degrading our number like some kind of Chinese Water Torture. Their MAC opener loss turned off the drip, but the scar still remains. (I'm a proponent of
not giving them another opportunity for scarring until they've proven themselves "reformed." A couple consecutive years in the RPI top 100 sounds
about right)

I am happy they are done losing!
It was a joke, a devise, we shouldn't be playing that pathetic program until they can prove to be at least neutral to our interests. |

If they would have reached the MAC Final, their RPI would have risen. Title in 2011 - you're basically saying you are glad they did the most damage
possible. Are you a Wright State fan?

Title... you're 100% correct.
I'm sick and tired of seeing who Testicle Tech lost to this weekend. They were a drag on our RPI and maybe we should consider ending a 50+ year relationship until they can prove themselves. We can find another quality school to take their place in a home-and-home. |

Geez, Butler isn't going to cut Ball State from the schedule nor should they. Over the past thirty years it has been one of the constants, and until
recently one of the bigger games of the year.

Honestly, I think that we're doing a favor by playing them. I wouldn't be opposed to taking a 3-4 year break from the Ball State game. Just because
we've always played them doesn't mean that we always should, regardless of the state of their program. I think that you have to evolve along with
college basketball or you risk hurting yourself.

Honestly? You've got to be kidding! Ball State will be back. They are a traditional rival and we should and will play them every year............ along
with ISU and Evansville. I remember some threads back in December wondering if BSU would win a single game this year. Billy Taylor has done a great job and
recruiting is going pretty well. We were theoretically hurt more by the RPI's of OSU, VTU, TTU and the rest than BSU's bottom feeders. Not to mention
(OK I will) an easy drive to Muncie for Bulldog fans to watch a road game in a pretty nice arena.

You have to feel bad for Peyton Stovall, he was a class act kid and a pretty good ball player. His career included 3 coaching changes and a couple of knee
surgery's. Hopefully they can get things there at Ball State turned around and get rid of their president and AD, I have no doubt Taylor will restore some
order in the program and make it respectable.

is fixated with playing Butler, if the series is stopped they may not care to re-start it. This place is reading more and more like Peegs everyday.

Don't overreact people. Everyone would agree that we want the program to continue to progress. Big conference teams do not have to worry about their
non-con schedule as much, they can lean on their conferences as a consistent source of good win opportunities.

Now it's my turn to say you've got to be kidding. You do know that 50% of the RPI formula (more than any other component) is based on opponent winning %. |

So call it now Johnny5, what seed will Butler get because of our opponents RPI AND what seed would they have gotten based on last year's opponents? We all
pretty much expected a 6 or 7 seed (some thought even an 8 or 9) last year and we ended up a 5. I say "theoretically" because our other attributes
are still going to get us a 4 seed. You're talking 50% of one formula that goes into the selection process.

You're straying from the statement that I quoted. I just fail to see how the RPIs of FSU, OSU, TT, VaTech hurt us more than Ball State's RPI. Your
words, not mine.

I'm curious also. Please explain how the RPI's of OSU, VTU, TTU hurt more than BSU's.
