I'm sad at the prospect that the site may not be able to continue in the way it has in the seocnd half of this season. It was an excellent source of
information for Butler Basketball and had great interview with people who are some of the most knowledgeable in college basketball

As the old saying goes.... "The show must go on!"
I don't have the knowledge, but someone out there might. I hope someone steps up to help Brandon out. That site was a great tool to use in getting interviews, pre/post game analysis, and other tidbits about the dawgs. |

I'm a journalism major and I sent an email to Brandon to see if he could use my help...hopefully it will keep going with or without my help...I really
enjoyed that site this year...it has some really really great interviews...

That's a great opportunity to pursue, IndyDawgs - one way to learn more of the ropes of journalism while following your favorite team. Hope it all works
out for you.
To the five seniors of the Class of 2008, Julian Betko, Pete Campbell, A.J. Graves, Mike Green, and Drew Streicher, thank you for everything you have done on behalf of the the Butler Men's Basketball program. Best wishes for each of you in achieving your future goals. |

Brandon is truely passionate for Butler basketball. You should've seen him while watching the Tennessee game haha. He was literally biting on his nails and
rocking back and forth in his chair in the corner. I have never seen anything like it!
Anyway, thanks Brandon for all your hard work and time! |

1430 is starved for content, and Brandon has the content, I would imagine the folks at the station would be willing to listen. Those podcasts could be modified
to be pretty good "filler" material for the station, and the synergies are pretty apparent. Who is the station manager over there?
Anyone else starting to think that Shelvin Mack, the Bryan Station boys' basketball star, could
become Billy Gillispie's Chris Lofton?

sounds like a great case for the Butler Marketing Club - use their resources and energies to network with the parties around Indianapolis to find a way to make
this financially self sufficient, or at least to give a few of the people involved some incentive to keep going with the project.
You could use the school's journalism department (I'm sure Brandon has some strong contacts there) to provide interns, the Marketing dept. to help find outlets (1430, other local stations, etc.) and then Brandon could lighten the work load, but continue to set up these great interviews... I hope the site can stay, he did an amazing job.

Title in 2011 wrote:But does 1430 want that content? Butler buys the time on their radio station for the games and coach's show, so unless somebody is going to buy time on the station to play various interviews or features about Butler, I don't forsee that happening. I know that several people have offered their journalistic services and talents to Brandon in order to keep the site alive, so hopefully he is able to utilize that help. |

Thanks to all for the support. You guys have made it all seem more than worthwhile.
I have now responded to those who inquired about assisting with the site. As I told them (and as I said on the site yesterday), I'm likely going to let it be for a while and then revisit the future plans sometime later in the spring. I agree that there could be some synergy and/or a direct relationship with someone or something (whether it be 1430, the BU Journalism and Broadcasting dept, or the like) in the future for BU Beat. If I didn't have other stuff interfering, I might pursue such a relationship (and it would help if I was located in Indy rather than NYC). For now, however, I'm just going to let it be unless approached with an idea. There is some professional ambiguity in my life right now, though, so who knows what the future holds.... At any rate, thanks again to all for the kind words and support. What a year it was. And to leave a positive thought for the future, I was pleased that Avery Jukes responded to my letter to the team and said "As underclassmen, we plan to carry the tradition forward!" Looks like they're ready to pick up the torch and march on. Go Dawgs!

Just like to say thank you Brandon for all of your hard work this season, it was great to listen to all of your interviews and really appreciate all the hard
work you did. I know I speak for most if not all here when I say thank you!
Now if only you had hooked up a link to my site on your page.... |
