"Butler is, well... Butler! After the program's multiple retoolings and consistent high level of play, it's now a
basketball synonym for "awesome." (As in, "That's a very Butler tie you're wearing, sir. Have a
Butler day!") --Kyle Whelliston |

Also, Butler is showing major interest in fellow 1st Team member, Steven Jamison of Broad Ripple. Jamison right now is 6'5, closer to 6'6. He could
step in at the 3, once Hayward leaves. If you want to follow him this summer, he's playing with the 17-under Spiece Indy Heat team with Teague, Deshaun
Thomas, and Russell Byrd.

Let's not miss out on the "next big thing" out of Broad Ripple HS. We already missed on trophy bass right in our backyard...

Title, Duck. Who are these guys, "non qualifier" and "Goff" and fish in back yard pond?

He's referring to Robert Goff, who graduated last year from Broad Ripple HS. He did not qualify through the clearinghouse, so he is at Cowley Community
College in Kansas. Goff will be one of, if not the best JUCO kid coming out after the '10 season. Butler showed major interest in him, but obviously
didn't amount to anything. Jamison on the other hand, will have no problem qualifying. He is in the BR magnet that offers mandatory CP classes, and doing
well.

Actually Butler Beirut, I was referring to George Hill.

Gotcha....by the responses, I assumed you were referring to Goff. As for Hill, I'm fairly confident that he wouldn't have been admitted to Butler.
Remember this was through the whole James fiasco with the Admission Office.

Which James? James Parker or Jeff James? Both required some rule bending for admission to Butler...

where did james parker end up going?

Robert Morris (NAIA).
He's actually playing professionally believe it or not - PIONEROS LOS MOCHIS basketball team in Mexico. |

jamison would be a nice fit at butler imo

Ignoring Coach RoastBeef's usual nonsense, James Parker was a great example of a player who had a specific skill (scoring off the dribble from beyond the
arch) that the coaching staff could not work into our system. He wasn't a catch-and-release shooter and had to build his own offense, a skill that many
programs covet; however, not a part of the overly discussed "Butler Way".

Possibly. Bottom line is that he's playing professionally (albeit in the Mexican League) but couldn't find a role on some very mediocre Butler teams
(2003-04, 2004-05).

you make more at McDonalds than he makes playing "professionally" in Mexico.

I don't get it. You start every conflict, then try to backtrack. What gives? Can't you grow up a little?
