Butler in Jimmy V Classic |
Lead | |
|
Butler is in the Jimmy V Classic in early December. We will play either Pittsburgh or Georgetown. The UNC Butler game is not happening. My source is 100% in
the know. I believe the date will be around December 8. Bank on this rumor.

I would be fairly surprised if either one of those teams is ranked at that time.
Not that it matters, just saying.
YEAH!!!

Georgetown should be ranked...they return almost their whole team including Greg Monroe. They are ranked 16th in Rivals preseason Top 25. Hopefully we
play them instead of Pitt considering they lost most of their team.

This is a major coup! Dawgs against the almighty Big East! Bring it on! Way to go B.C. and B.S. and all that have come before you!

Awesome! What a great schedule they have put together. Just last year we were upset that no one would schedule us. That still might be the case, but you cannot
argue much with the upcoming schedule.

You're just jealous you don't have any sources to turn to.

I heard this from a 100% reliable inside source this weekend as well. This is a huge win for the program - the exposure and prestige of being involved could
arguably rival a post season appearance.

This is hreat news for the program. Hopefully the earlier part of the schedule goes well and we will be ranked fairly high at that point. As far as TV, I
believe that the Jimmy V Classic is usually on ESPN or ESPN2. Playing a big named school on national TV at MSG will be some of the best exposure the school has
received.

Looking at just last season's Jimmy V Classic...games were at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and both were on ESPN.
"We've had a good program for the past 12 years, and we've never had an NBA player," said Butler sports information director Jim
McGrath. "Our pros are doctors and lawyers."

Someone remind me about Jamie Dixon's comments about scheduling mid-majors. Something sticks out in my mind. I think I would LOVE if that is the matchup.

I know this is greatly unrelated, but it gives you an idea of how our athletic department is working. We have scheduled Princeton, Dartmouth and Youngstown
State for FOOTBALL. I don't know this, but I am confident that they are replacing Albion, Hanover, Franklin, etc. For IAA this is a big jump. Way to go
B.C. and Coach Jeff.

You never know for sure what kind of a season these teams are going to have, but this has the potential to be one heck of a non-conference schedule.
LET'S GO DAWGS!!!
