Very true IHX. Being invited to events such as Jimmy V Classic and Maui and Anaheim are clear examples of where this program has elevated to in the last few
years. Big named events WANT Butler to be a part of it. That says a ton and it stems from the work the Athletic Department has done. I hate cold weather, but I
cannot wait for hoops to get here.

Why would they put IU in this field just to see them get blown off the court? Gtown and/or Pitt will still smash them. IU is 2 years away from being watchable.

Enjoying the riveting football discussion, but does anyone have any new information on the original impetus of this thread? Confirmed participation? Confirmed date? Love to lock in a hotel with credit card points before its too late!

Staxawax, perhaps you are the one who needs to do some research. Just because you are in Indiana doesn't mean you have to believe the hype about this
"great" recruiting class IU allegedly has. You realize it was only ranked 10th because of quantity, not necessarily quality, right? IU will still
suck. They will win more than 6 games, but they will struggle to even be .500. If you think Pitt is in that zone, you are nuts.

I actually rec'd an email today about this from the university. We're starting to consider alumni events in the city for the remainder of the year and
the email confirmed we are playing at the garden on the 8th.

Can anyone confirm IU's particpation in the game as well?
Regarding their recruiting class, team rankings as a whole are pointless considering these guys have not played one game of college basketball together yet. IU is "ranked" 10th this season. 2005 team rankings North Carolina's class of 2005 was ranked 9th. What did they accomplish? 2 Final Fours, a national title. Decent imo. Then again, Alabama was ranked 8th. Who knows what legacy this class of IU will leave in Bloomington, but I am not going to write them off as trash nor call them the class that rectifies the program until they play some games. |

Yeah, I am not sure Stax will hyping IU at a venue near you anytime soon. IU has a good coach and had a decent recruiting class. They may surprise some people
this year, but won't be great. But will be far from the jokesters they were last year. Think that was the point. Pitt is pretty much an unknown right now
because of losing most of their core, so, the idea that it may be a decent matchup is not that far fetched.

willisbrown wrote: Agree with all of this, esp the part about Stax rooting for IU. Pitt loses its top 3 players and we know IU is bringing in a pretty good recruiting class so this has the possibility to be a great match up if it does happen. |

Hey Georgetown Fan here. We will in fact be playing you guys in the Jimmy V Classic. Our coach stated so during a recent charity event. I can't wait this
is going to be a great match up. Your team is going to be very good and it will be hard to get a win in NY for us. We're hoping to rebound from a
disappointing season. We have a lot of returning talent, so we'll see how things play out. I'll probably stop back when the season starts discuss the
match up. It's a slow off season so just wanted to stop by and confirm our game with you.

As a follow up to IU-Pitt game at MSG, we hear it's part of a doubleheader that will also feature Georgetown vs. Butler. |

Pretty sure I got that, but I don't need to be told to "do my research" before posting. I know plenty. Thanks.
