Good news - I have no idea how this team was selected. I realize that every player on this team can have his night or an off night, but you look at the "big" name players on this team who you figured would be locks to be on the All-Star team (Bade, Elston, Hulls) basically didn't show up. Bade only played 8 minutes though, so that might have something to do with it, but Indiana's Mr. Basketball was 0-7 from the field and only had 2 points in 26 minutes while Elston had 6 points in 15 minutes. I wonder if Crean is getting a little nervous for next season (I know, it's only one game). Errick Peck (who was admittedly one of the last guys selected) led Indiana with 16 points and 12 boards. So maybe Smith should have been on the team and was simply misevaluated, maybe not. What this does show is the selection process is extremely subjective (even the All-Stars coach said that much).
Bad news - Matt Kenney, one of Valpo's incoming freshmen played very well last night, with 11 points and 4 boards in only 15 minutes of play last night. I noted that he didn't have any assists which would seem strange for the guard, but since it's an All-Star setting, I won't read too much into it.
