Great article. He and Mack BOTH made it. Great for them and great for Butler's name recognition.

Only two non-major players invited I believe....and they both made it. Anyone else ready for hoops season to begin?
"We've had a good program for the past 12 years, and we've never had an NBA player," said Butler sports information director Jim
McGrath. "Our pros are doctors and lawyers."

WOO-HOO!!! That's so awesome! I would have actually been surprised if Gordon didn't make the team but I thought Mack might have had a harder time. So
glad I was wrong though. Great job guys!
"Maybe before the season, I thought that (we'd be rebuilding), but playing with these guys in the summer and offseason, I saw that this group could really do something special,'' said Matt Howard, the sophomore forward. "So, no, I'm not really surprised.'' |

This type of recognition has to also help our current recruiting class. Players from Butler are being recognized for their performance on the court.
Ben Brunst, make your commitment today! |

Not to burst happy thought bubbles, Butler not the only non-major team involved. UTEP got a player in, Moultrie. I still also like to consider NW a mid-major
too.

Interesting first game opponent-Iran on July 2. Seeing how high the tensions have been lately between the two countries, should maybe add a touch more
intensity and passion from both sides. Hard fouls would be welcomed from the US fans.

Stop what? Just pointing out what a high intensity level it could be...and that I hope the USA plays hard. That's all.
