Has anyone purchased this package yet ? I seems like a pretty decent deal at only $8. If I am reading the schedule correctly the first round game is at 10 am
July 2nd, which would be 6 pm July 1st local time, so the start times are convenient.

I plan to purchase the package for $8. However, I understand the internet coverage does begin until the quarter finals which is July 10. There would be no
coverage July 2nd.

The USA squad, which does not feature any player with previous true international experience, was paced by Seth Curry's (Duke / Charlotte, N.C.) 16 points
(4-7 3pt FGs), Ashton Gibbs (Pittsburgh / Scotch Plains, N.J.) added 15 points and Shelvin Mack (Butler / Lexington, Ky.) accounted for 12 points, six assists
and four steals. Outrebounding Croatia 43-25, John Shurna (Northwestern / Glen Ellyn, Ill.) led the way on the glass with eight rebounds to go with nine
points, and Howard Thompkins (Georgia / Lithonia, Ga.) added seven boards and seven points.

Hayward, Hayward, Hayward... let us not forget that Shelvin had almost 20 points in the LSU game... another freshman. Way to go Shel!

So many ways I could go with this...you just served me a slow pitch softball rhosigkick. Instead of knocking this one out of the park, I'll take the high
road and keep my repertoire of clever responses private. You can thank me later Staxawax.

I'm gonna go ahead and take the low road on this one and say that Duck is a boner.
I feel much better now. |

Personal attacks aside for the moment...
Key stat here is 6 assists. Continues to show that against high level competition Mack is one hell of a ball distributor. Which is why in my opinion we can go big next year and not lose a beat. Just be better. Mack and Hayward are perfectly capable of being the main ball handlers, and you can put either Veas or Nored on the bench and have one of them be a spark plug change of pace type player. I think Willie proved himself as a starter last year and was very effective in many games. Nored would be better off the bench providing energy IMO. I have nothing against him at all and love his effort and hustle. Just again, with the schedule we are playing, going big is a smart idea. At least tinker with it. It surely cannot hurt. |

willisbrown wrote: That is an interesting take willis. Nored off the bench and a true 2-3 starting five would push either Hahn or VanZant (likely Hahn) to the "third line" as our backcourt would rotate Mack-Hayward, Nored-VanZant, then Hahn-Stigall-Leiendecker. Being a third line guy would mean 5-8 minutes per game at the most, which would be a reduction for Hahn from last year. |

Yep, it would push back Hahn of Van Zant, but let's be honest, if Butler is going to be a top 15 program in this country, those are the types of players
that have very smaller, particular roles. We are going to be competing with the big boys the majority of the pre conference schedule. Some of the best teams in
the country. I like what Nored brings to this team, I just think in a 18-20 minute fireball dose would be more effective. Maybe I am way off base and he will
come in lights out and we can't afford not to have him on the court. Only time will tell of course.
And the main reason I harp on this is because of size, but I wouldn't be so into the idea, but even though it was only for a brief time against LSU, Howard and Jukes looked great together on the court at the same time. You have two bigs that have completely different games. One face up, one back to the basket player. They can feed off of that as well as keep one big from the other team away from Howard, and maybe open up the lane more for him to work his magic. And you have bullseye shooters in Mack and Hayward on the perimeter. This is a long shot from happening, but may as well give it a shot. |

Willis. I agree with so much of what you say, but this one I can't go all the way with you. I like big, okay. I like Shel and Gordon handling the ball. But
I can't sit Ron. IMO, Ron is hands down the best defender on the team. I think to the games against Josh Young, Steph Curry, Evan Turner and the gangsters
from Xavier and Ron took control defensively. His leadership is unquestionable.
I have a feeling, an epiphany a premonition that his offensive skills will improve in this off season. As like many Dawg players before him, Drew Streicher comes to mind, Ron will improve greatly off season.
