Not really a Butler topic, but for all of you Duke haters out there (like me) this will make you smile. Elliot Williams (PG/SG) has been released from his
scholarhship from Duke and leaves them with a big hole at the point. Reasons given were is ailing mother and wanting to be close to her. According to what
Parrish said on the radio today, that usually leads a player to land within 100 miles or so of their hometown, which in this case is Memphis, and they can play
right away without skipping a year of eligibility.
Truth is, his mom is sick and he wants to be near her, so that in and of itself is sad. But he will land at either Memphis or Ole Miss, probably Memphis, and
start right away at the one. This will give new coach Pastner a McDonald's All American to help level off the drop in talent Memphis is feeling from
Calipari leaving. So good for Memphis, bad for Duke. Here is Parrish's latest blog on it.
