I heard some rumblings about a Nored injury this afternoon at Hinkle. That's some tough news if it's true. If something like that has to occur,
it's better to happen in June/July than in November/December. Good luck to Ron on a swift recovery.
One note for team building purposes - I hope Ron still goes on the Italy trip, even if he can't play in the four exhibition games.

The Bulldogs have been really lucky the past couple of years in regards to injuries. Trainer Ryan Galloy & staff have done an excellent job of keeping our
athletes in top condition.

Sucks for him, hope he recovers soon and at full strength. And hope he is just as quick as he was. But yes, much better to occur in the summer than in the late
fall or winter. Good luck Ronald.

Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise.... Nored will get to spend Italy on the bench next to Brad with brad teaching Nored how to think like a coach on the
floor. Mack gets more experience running the point. Andrew Smith gets more time in the lineup (if he is eligible to go).

Addl. PT for A guard | ||

With Nored out who I think it opens up playing time for is Chase Stigall. It will be good for him to get some PT in game conditions with the other regular top
8 as I think he is only one of additional (new faces this year of Kampen, Stigall, and Smith) that could see significant minutes. He could move ahead of
Leindecker and also possibly Hahn/Vanzant. You could see Mack running point 10/15 minutes/game (once Nored is back) and there would be 15-25 minutes available
at the SG slot if Mack is at the point 10/15 and also sits out 5/10 minutes/game. Those minutes are going to be divided between Hahn/Vanzant and Stigall most
likely with Butcher and Jukes eating up most of the spare minutes at the SF, PF and C position. You might see us go very small w/
Nored/Mack/Stigall-Vanzant-Hahn/Veasley-Butcher/Howard-Jukes when we don't have Gordon on floor which will likely only be 4/6 minutes/game in close games.
It will be interesting how Brad divides PT this year. Deepest team we have had in quite a long time.

He is not eligible to play since he is an incoming freshman.

DW Confirms Nored's Injury (Amongst Other Butler
News
Ronald Nored has a stress fracture in his left leg and will be sidelined an indeterminate amount of time. I saw an Internet rumor about that, and he confirmed the injury today (Thursday). He said the injury has been bothering him for several weeks. "I probably need a break," he said. He will accompany the team on the August tour of Italy but will be held out of the games. Nored said he would use his down time to practice free throws and lift weights. "There's a lot you can do without playing to have a positive impact on your team," coach Brad Stevens said. "Maybe before the season, I thought that (we'd be rebuilding), but playing with these guys in the summer and offseason, I saw that this group could really do something special,'' said Matt Howard, the sophomore forward. "So, no, I'm not really surprised.'' |

Nored is a good kid with a good head on his shoulders, hopefully he recovers quickly and keeps his head up. It's good that he's still going with the
team to Italy, there's a lot you can learn without stepping on the floor.

FREE THROWS!! Great point jziemer. I would have loved them to be fully loaded for Italy, but this will open the door for a couple of guys to show their stuff
and gain some good game experience.
