Huge Breaking News. When Temple and Charlotte leave the A-10 in 2 years. Now the Gonzaga thing seems totally ridiculous but if they only moved for bball then I guess I could see it happening.

As far as if we did or not suck last year. Relative to the recent history, yes, we sucked. But still a middle of the road D-1 team. Add experience and the talent coming in, we'll be much better. I don't think we'll be just outstanding but will hover around the top 25-top 50 range that should get us into the dance. The schedule is brutal and if anyone thinks there doesn't need to be huge improvements from certain players that's crazy. I am glad for Clarke that he gets to go out playing in a real conference. I'd be happy with a top 5 finish in conference and an 8-11 seed in the dance. My expectations stop there.

Obviously we weren't as good, but we lost way too much for any rational person to assume we would perform at that level again. I don't think we need huge improvements from people, ex: Lightfoot, but we definitely need people to progress and I have no reason to think they won't. We aren't joining the Atlantic division of the NBA, so I think we will be ok next year. It's definitely better than the HL, but I think we'll be ready for it. If not, I'm sure I'll read all about it on here ad nauseum.

I really do hope I'm wrong with next year's season, but I really feel like it's going to be a rough one. We'll obviously know more once the schedule comes out and more still once we get to see these guys play.

"It was very surprising," [A-10 commissioner] McGlade said. "Obviously they were presented some unanticipated restrictions that would have rendered them ineligible for championships … and they just felt like they couldn't do that to their coaches and student-athletes. "They reached out to us last week and shared their, I guess I would say, distress. … We're about inclusion. Just think if you're a senior on one of those teams and you couldn't compete for a championship."

I'm left shaking my head if this truly was forced by the Horizon League and the university presidents ... petty and spiteful is the only way you can describe it. I guess they figure it will be no problem to fill the void of losing two games against Butler with a couple of non-conference games. I can't wait to see how many games against Division 2 opponents get added to this season's schedule for HL teams. Enjoy life on the East Coast. A-10 tourney in Brooklyn should be epic.
